Holden HQ GTS V8

Holden Kingswood HQ GTS V8 - Click to view eBay Auction

On ebay is this Holden HQ GTS (non genuine) V8 1974 model. It has a GTS dash, steering wheel and guards.

The vehicle has been un-registered since 1998 but has been in a garage the entire time. There are a few stone chips on the bonnet, otherwise the paint is excellent for its age and body is rust free. There is a very slight colour mismatch on front guards as the seller had flutes welded in (see the pictures on eBay).

The tyres are in good condition and have Dragway mags. Interior is in excellent condition for its age and seats are intact with no rips or holes. The seller has installed a new Pioneer CD player and Pioneer back speakers. The dashboard is in good condition for its age.

It has 253 engine, trimatic gearbox, 650 holley, extractors (but no exhaust system), electronic distributor and Edelbrock intake manifold. Engine runs well and is started weekly. The engine was rebuilt at some stage but the seller does not have further details because this was done before he purchased it in 2006.

1968 HK Monaro Coupe

1968 HK Monaro Coupe - Click to view eBay Auction

Up for auction is a 1968 Holden HK Monaro coupe. The car is for sale via other means as well and the seller reserves the right to terminate the auction early so you better not delay!

The car goes quite well but has not been registered or driven the car for a number of years.

This car is not a genuine GTS and it used to be an 186S. It now has a 327 in it with a 5 speed Walkinshaw box and a 9" diff. Mechanically the car will drive although the seller recommends changing all the hoses, belts, tyres, etc. as they have deteriorated due to age. Apparently the rear unit has to be replaced as well.

On the outside this car has one of the best bodies you will see for its age. It has been resprayed but as the pictures on eBay indicate, there is a small damage over the rear LHS light and another one over the rear RHS guard. The rear bumper needs to be re-chromed.

The interior needs a good tidy up as it has been restored but not very well. All in all it's a car that could become a beautiful cruiser with a bit of Tender Loving Care and not much cash.

1970 HT 307 Chev Holden Monaro GTS

1970 Holden Monaro HT 307 Chev - Click to view eBay Auction

Up for auction is this genuine HT GTS Monaro complete matching numbered car with genuine log books!!

This car is a genuine Monza Blue factory 307 Chev with powerglide auto.

This is the car to have! They don’t come up for auction that often with complete matching numbers and log books with two owners from new!

This car does need work. It has rust in all the usual spots. The seller has started to repair bonnet, boot lid, passenger side door have been bead blasted and etch primed as you can see in the pictures. The engine has never been out of this car and the tags have never come off. This is as genuine as they come for the most serious of collectors.

The interior will need a retrim but everything is there. The car has been sitting for a long time. The seller has just started the engine so it is not seized but could not get it to drive. The seller thinks the powerglide needs oil. The car has patches of previous repairs but you will have to totally strip this car down and complete a total restoration on it because as we know these cars are worth a lot of money. The car does come with its original purchase book and owners manual. Verifying all the numbers match on this car.

Car is a genuine 80837

The seller has five hubcaps and three of four wheel arch moulds - mostly everything is there for the car. And there is a good passenger side door to assist with the repairs needed to complete this car. As the seller has stated this car does need a fair amount of work and has sustained some damage to the passenger side door and rear quarter but all can be easily repaired.

1977 Holden HX Monaro GTS Sedan 4 SP MAN V8

1977 Holden HX Monaro GTS Sedan 4 SP MAN V8

1977 Holden HX Monaro - Click to view eBay Auction

You are looking at an original HX Monaro GTS 1977 253 4 speed manual V8 sedan

Identification numbers taken off the car are as follows:

  • Previous registration: NGF011 (2002)
  • Engine no. qr182125
  • Model: 8wq69xr
  • Body no. 929458 - s
  • Trim:  1896-60A
  • Paint: 567-15942

This is a very original unmolested Monaro GTS. It has no power steering or air conditioning. It has the original single headlamp nose panel and no added on spoilers etc. It has not been run on gas. It is finished in its original 'Contessa Gold' paintwork. All the numbers are consistent. A 'changeover' engine (RPM Engines) has been fitted.

The seller believes the car is configured exactly as it was when it left the factory in 1977.  Mechanically the car is good. The engine starts first go and sounds healthy, the gearbox and diff. are good, no noises, clunks etc. Occasionally there is a whining noise from the clutch thrust bearing as the clutch is being let out. This may improve with use as the car has been in storage since 2002. The seller suggests the engine bay would benefit from a spruce up.

The bodywork of the vehicle is excellent.  The rear window sticker indicates that the car came from Deniliquin NSW   which explains why it does not have the usual rust issues. I believe that the car was repainted in the early '90s. When the seller bought the car the front nose panel was replaced and the bonnet and guards repaired and painted and front bumper replaced after a relatively minor altercation. Last year the seller had the roof stripped and repainted (the paint was starting to craze) and small rust spots on both rear quarters repaired. The only other rust repairs were the bottom of one of the front guards (minor) and bottom of rear left door, done around 2008.

The interior of the car is very good and original but not perfect. The interior sun visors have deteriorated and need replacing. There is no radio. The roof lining is original and starting to show its age. The driver’s seat cushion has just started to split. There is a stain on the top of the rear seat next to the parcel shelf.  Front carpets are worn but serviceable.

This car has not been registered or on the road since 2002 as the seller is a collector not a driver.

The seller’s friend drove this car about 10 years ago, but eventually he pulled it off the road and began dismantling it for a rebuild. It then sat in his garage for about 3 years, until the current seller purchased it from him and it's been sitting in his garage for about 5 years since.

The car is complete except for:

She can still start but Needs LOTS of Tender Loving Car.  Are you up to the challenge? Currently kept at Capalaba in Redland City.
