Up for auction is this damaged project Holden CV8 Monaro Coupe HSV.

It has the following features:

* 5.7 litre V8
* Auto
* LSD
* Traction control
* Cruise control
* CD player
* Blue leather interior

Seller acquired this Monaro with the intention of fixing and keeping it in the garage for a long time but needs the cash.

The car orginated from a lady who had it as a daily driver with three children...

It has minor dents and scratches all of the way around it. It needs new tint, roof lining is sagging. The car just needs some TLC which current owner can't provide at the moment. The running gear seems in good order.

I was serviced 500km's ago with all of the top of the line stuff. It has a BMC air filter, Bosch Platinum iridium spark plugs and runs a treat.

The driver’s side rear muffler has a large hole in it.

This car is a CHEAP awesome canvas for a Street machine or tidy it up and put it in the shed because it km's are pretty low.

Maroon 1968 Holden Monaro GTS 475 Camaro Show Winner

1968 Holden Monaro

1968 Holden Monaro - click to view eBay auction

Believe it or not but this car was purchased in Florida USA and advertised as a Bathurst edition and being 99.9% rust free.

Seller has made a lot of enquiries in Australia in regards the Vin number and its history in order to verify it’s a Bathurst edition or even if it was indeed raced by the great man himself (Peter Brock) in 69/70 (as claimed by the seller)

Seller has personally called Gene Cook from the US to his Melbourne workshop and he said that he remembers selling a few GTR

Toranas and GT falcons and a few Monaros back in 1982 but got out of the car trade and moved from tassie to Melbourne. He said he remembered a gold Monaro he sold in 1982 (I think this is the car). That’s all seller got from Gene (so im not sure who owned it between 1982 and 1996)

The car has won over 35 trophies from 27 car shows and the seller’s parents have all of them...some in Australia and some from the US.

Car had $35,000 spent on it and $9600USD on the engine and has only done under 5000 miles (with receipts)

40 thous over 400 V8, (stating it’s stroked to a 475)...extremely grunty car. The car has an ORIGINAL 35,150 miles on the clock and recorded on the Florida title.....this had to be certified from Australia with documentation - Edelbrock cam and roller rockers, hi rise manifold, holly carb with a supra 5 speed. 140M/H speedo and the Dad that’s selling it says it will go past that. Ford 9" 3.36 rear end. $4000AUD worth of Simmons wheels.

Little bit of time may turn up so more info on the cars history...but this all I have now. Im not selling this car a Brock owned car or even a Bathurst model. Im only giving you the information I have on a car I know nothing about.

He Paid $7000USD to get it to Florida from Tasmania after paying $52,000AUD in Tassie from Gene Cook. He then dumped 14,000USD into it here in the US and only took it to car shows

Vin # 80737KH565957
80737 - Monaro GTS Coupe
K = HK
R = RHD
03806 - build sequence
H5 - Sydney
567-10064 - Inca Gold Metallic
1163-18y - parchment/black interior

It's the 3806th HK GTS out of the Pagewood, Sydney plant. For HK there is no model designation difference for 6cyl or V8 GTS

The VIN doesn't really tell you much more:

8=GMH
0=blank space
7=GTS
37=coupe
K=HK
H565957= PSN or Plant Sequence Number, a sequential number for the Pagewood plant for ALL vehicles assembled there from 1/1/68. Started at H500000.

The car is being sent back to Australia from Florida, Im just waiting to see if its worth respraying it here as its cheaper and maybe generate some interest as eBay seller would prefer to sell it to an Australian and send her home where she belongs

The car needs a full repray as it has humidity blisters under the paint that have devoloped over time. There is no rust in the car anywhere, its just bad prepwork from the paint shop that painted the car. The car looks the same as in the pictures on eBay but up close you can see the blisters. Some people in Tasmania have contacted me saying that they remember this car doing the car scene circuit around 2000.

Orange 1972 Holden Monaro V8 Coupe

Orange 1972 Holden Monaro V8 Coupe

1972 Holden Monaro - click to view eBay Auction

Up for auction is this 100% Original and unrestored 4/1972 V8 HQ Monaro Coupe.

The eBay seller bought this car of a family who has owned this car from new and has all its details.

IT’s an original 253 V8, 4 speed with Lone O'ranger paint with Black interior.

The Car has three non original parts.

  1. RH front mudguard has been replaced about 15 years ago and is missing stainless trim and badge.
  2. Drivers door latch (internal) is different.
  3. Ignition barrel cover is brown instead of black, not sure why must have been broken at some stage.

Everything else is as it came from the factory. Even has the original blackout piece for the radio.

THE GOOD....

Unrestored, unmolested 100% original car. Even has original NSW number plates and dealer sticker on the rear window.

66,000 original miles.

With the exeption of the rear lights everything works on this car even the heater.

The Body is fairly straight for a 38 yo car.

THE BAD....

Being 38 years old it has some rust and dings. The interior is tired and will need work, but its all there.

Most of the rust is in the lower parts of the car, rear quarters etc. A fairly easy fix for a panel beater etc as rust repair sections for these cars are readily available.

Has original GTS wheels but they are pretty rusty. One or two will restore OK. It had jelly bean mags on it and the wheels where out in the weather for about 15 years....

Still drives and starts fine but will need restoration of the driveline/suspension etc.

THE REST....

This car has been unregistered since 1997 when its owner passed away. It was in locked in a shed covered in a tarp until I bought it in 2008. It was never advertised, I knew the owners and approached them. All I have done to it is wash it, change the oil and coolant, replace the battery and put a kit through the carb. Runs OK but need a tune up as it needs new plugs/points etc as it wasn't started for over 10 years. Started fine when we replaced the battery and whacked in some fresh fuel. As you would expect the car needs restoration. I am not going to lie and say you could drive this to a garage and get it rego'd straight away. It is a 38 year old car so will need work but seller states you will not find a more original Coupe to use as your resto project. No one has molested this car in any way.

Orange 1977 Holden Monaro HX GTS

| Monaro | September 6, 2010

Orange 1977 Holden Monaro HX GTS

1977 Holden Monaro - click to view eBay Auction

Up for auction is this 1977 HX GTS Monaro 308, 4 speed sedan. It is believed to be one of only a handful in special ordered Papaya GTS's as they weren't on the standard colour option list and it's the only one with Sienna trim.

This combination was more likely to be found on a SS Torana and appears to be the only one of it's kind and assumed to have been ordered through Holden and used as a display vehicle for the first 8 months of it's life. Being a special order it should have been paid for before the build but the build date is 2-1977 and it was sold 10-1977...

Seller included picture on eBay of the vehicle when it was brand new and said to be taken at one of the Holden plants. The vehicle is also on the cover of this current issue of Just Cars and when you search HX Monaro it often comes up as the image used along side the HX Monaro specifications.

The condition: Seller purchased this vehicle as an unfinished project, the original body had been soda blasted and striped to bare shell, doors emptied to shells and been restored in it's factory colours Papaya with HX GTS black outs and it's been done very well and no expence has been spared, the trim was made especially for this vehicle as Seinna vinal isn't available.

All the vinal was bought as a roll in the correct grain and then professionally colour changed to Seinna for this car and then stiched to make the seats, the vynal was also sent away so the door cards could be professionally vinal welded and reproduced so they would be identical to the rest of the vehicle, everything is new or reconditioned from the guage lenses to the parcel shelf, underfelt to the headlinner.

The motor was exchanged approx 5 years ago as a repco replacement motor and whilst it isn't the original it done little work as the vehicle was taken off the road shortly after and put into storage and then begain it's resto.

The chassis has also been changed at some point although we have gone through the steering and replaced the bushes and steering componets, it has new brakes, rotors and master cylinder, new suspession, exhaust and is very tidy underneath. No expence has been spared by the previous owner or since we got it and finished it

It's also on newly reconditioned GTS rims on new tyres with red stripes. We build cars like this for customers and from our expeirence this is about a 45-50k build not including the purchase price of the vehcile and presents it's self as a rare opportunity to purchase such a nice bulid without the effort or typical expence... the first serious buyer to view this vehicle will purchase it. Besides the fact that is a rare and interesting color combo with intersting history and notoriaty you could never build something like this for this money.
